The northern end of the Norwood Oval to be named the Roger Woodcock end.

On Monday the 7th of April the Norwood Football Club made the announcement at its 2017 Season Launch that the northern end of Norwood Oval would be named the Roger Woodcock end, in honour of Club champion Roger Woodcock.

Woodcock made an unforgettable contribution to the Norwood Football Club and the SANFL, both on and off the ground. At career's end, his 602 goals represented the most majors kicked by a non-full forward in SANFL history. Off the ground, Woodcock is a founding member of the Norwood Football Club's History Group, ensuring that important facets of Norwood Football Club’s 139 year history is preserved.

During the surprise presentation Woodcock was lost for words and was extremely humbled to learn that he would have an end of the Norwood Oval named after him. His brother, also a former Redleg, Brian Woodcock was also present on the night to celebrate the announcement.

“Roger, as a player and continues to today, make great contributions to our club”

“It was an easy decision to honour a great player of our club in this way” Norwood Football Club CEO James Fantasia said.
