The Norwood Football Club is extremely delighted to announce its third recruit for the 2018 SANFL Maccas League Season small forward, Caleb Edmead.
Edmead signs with the Redlegs after spending seven years at Central District amassing 40 League games and kicking 58 goals.
The 24-year-old will add another dimension to the Norwood FC forward line with his aggression and ability to hit the scoreboard.
Speaking to Edmead about his arrival, he said he was thrilled to be playing for the Redlegs in 2018 and sees a move to the Parade a fantastic opportunity for himself in terms of football as well as lifestyle.
“It’s very exciting to sign with Norwood for next year,” Edmead said.
“I suppose it’s a different outlook on football switching from Centrals to Norwood and a new opportunity for me,” said Edmead.
“After sitting down with Jarrod Cotton and Mark Ross they sold the Norwood lifestyle to me in terms of the club being family orientated. That in itself sat really well with me and my partner and ended up being a key reason in moving across.”
Edmead arrives on the Parade with a point to prove after winning the Leading Goal Kicker and Development Awards at Centrals in 2015.
Edmead said he is looking forward to playing his part for the Red and Blue in 2018 and is striving for a first ever League Premiership under Senior Coach, Jarrod Cotton.
“I’m hoping next year I can play some football,” said Edmead.
“I didn’t play much football this year due to an injury, but I am hoping with the help of the Norwood Football Club I can hit the park and play most games in 2018.
“I am also looking forward to playing under Jarrod Cotton and playing my role in helping the team play finals next year.”
