Match Preview: Norwood FC vs Glenelg FC

The Redlegs return to Coopers Stadium tonightt, as we face Glenelg in Round 6 of the SANFL Maccas League.

We fought of a brave a tough Central District outfit two weeks ago, and are feeling fresh coming off the bye last weekend.

We are set to regain former North Melbourne midfielder, Brad McKenzie, after a stint in the reserves last week, as an ankle injury postponed his debut in the Norwood colours.

Head Coach Jarrod Cotton outlined that his side is well prepared heading into the clash, mentioning how important the two premiership points are playing at home tomorrow night.

“The boys are feeling really good and fresh coming off the bye last week,” Cotton said.

“Tomorrow night’s match is important, because we really want to win our home games and we have fallen short the last couple of times we have played at home.

“But we are 100% prepared and are ready to hopefully go out there and put in a four-quarter performance in front of our fans tomorrow night.”

In the last meeting between the two sides, the Legs defeated the Bays heavily in an early season trial match, however Cotton firmly believes the Bays are a strong outfit, and won’t be reading into that match at all.

“Yeah, obviously, we can’t read into that match as it was only a trial,” said Cotton.

“Glenelg have obviously upset a few sides throughout the season so far, so we know that we have our work cut out for us tomorrow night.

“We aren’t going to shy away from the fact that it’s a massive game, being at home we need to stay in touch with the top three and by winning will keep us in good stead when we travel away.

“So, we are hoping for a big crowd to come out and support us in what should be a fantastic match.”
