NORWOOD faces the old enemy Port Adelaide in Round 6 of the SANFL Maccas League on Friday night at Coopers Stadium.
Norwood, head into the match victorious after a 21-point victory against Adelaide in Round 5, while Port will be looking to register their third win of the year after going down to Sturt on Anzac Day by 24-points.
The Redlegs will look to record back to back wins for the first time this season in front of what should be a healthy crowd at Coopers on Friday night.
Speaking to the Senior Coach of the Redlegs, Jarrod Cotton he stated that this Friday’s match against Port is a significant one in terms of building momentum heading into the bye.
“Heading into a bye it’s always good to get a win full stop,” said Cotton.
“Tonight we have to make sure that we stick to the process of what makes us a good team, making sure we are consistent in the way we play over the four quarters.
“In saying this we are really looking forward to playing another Friday night game in front of what should be a very healthy crowd against one of our oldest rivals.”
Although the Redlegs took the points in Round 5 against Adelaide, Cotton admitted there are still areas which needs to be improved on if Norwood are a serious chance of defeating a determined and tough Port Adelaide outfit.
“Last week we obviously missed a fair few chances, however I was really pleased about our ability able to create plenty of scoring shots.
“Tonight we have to make sure we do that again but also have to make sure that we stop the opposition from scoring.
“So if we can build scoreboard pressure and defend well, it will go a long way in winning the game.
