Match Preview: Norwood FC v South Adelaide

The Redlegs return to Coopers Stadium on tonight, as we face South Adelaide in Round 4 of the SANFL Maccas League.

We returned to winning ways last weekend, after defeating West Adelaide by 44 points at City Mazda Stadium.

Head Coach Jarrod Cotton outlined that his side needs to deliver a solid performance against a strong South Adelaide outfit.

“Going into the match we need to deliver another solid four quarter performance,” said Cotton.

“Our intensity and tackle pressure has been well documented leading up to the match and will be a main focus for us also.

“We want to win our home games. It’s a major focus for us every year, so we are hoping we can get a lot of our members and supporters to the game to give us their support in what will be a great match.”

Norwood’s confidence will be boosted after a commanding 44-point win over the Bloods last Friday however, Cotton admitted there are areas that his team need to work on to give themselves a chance to claim the 2 points.

“Our ball movement can continue to get better and our efficiency going inside 50 is another aspect of our game that we are always looking to improve,” Cotton explained.

“But obviously, our contested ball numbers need to be up as well as our tackle count because in order to score, we need to get the ball inside 50 quickly for our forwards.

“So, there are a couple of aspects, however we are aiming to deliver a consistent four quarter performance for our fans and hopefully we can do that and get the win.”
