MATCH PREVIEW: STURT FC vs NORWOOD FC

On Saturday afternoon, we travel to Peter Motley Oval to face the reigning Premiers Sturt in Round 8 of the SANFL Maccas League.

In what should be an enthralling contest, we head into the match with some form after winning our last three matches convincingly.

Head-Coach for Norwood FC, Jarrod Cotton said he is really looking forward to facing Sturt on Saturday and stated that it will be a really good test away from home.

“Our preparation has been really good, we are really focused on putting in another four-quarter performance,” said Cotton.

“That’s the challenge for the group this week is to come with that same intensity and attitude to perform at a high level against a quality opposition that are starting to really find some form.

“Sturt are starting to get all their players back now and they played really well last week against South at Noarlunga, so it’s going to a great challenge for us.

After what was a big win over the ladder leaders, it was a bitter sweet scenario for the Redlegs losing key midfielder, Matt Panos to a knee injury keeping him sidelined for 2-3 weeks.

However, Cotton is adamant that his side has the depth to cover Panos, for the next few weeks ahead.

“Obviously it’s disappointing Matt won’t be able to play, but it was a good result in the fact it wasn’t season ending,” said Cotton.

“So, obviously with Panos out it now gives someone else an opportunity to come in and play their role.

“Overall, we don’t want to look at too many external factors, we just need to as a group come to play and hopefully get the two Premiership points on offer.”
