NORWOOD midfield star Mitch Grigg says another couple of Premierships are hopefully on the horizon as he notches up his 100th SANFL Maccas League game on Friday night.

Grigg made his League debut for Norwood back in 2009 against Central District, and hasn’t looked back winning a Premiership in 2013 as well as winning the 2017 Magarey Medal.

The 26 year-old has established himself as one of the competitions best midfielders currently averaging 28.2 touches per game.

Speaking to Grigg ahead of his 100th SANFL game on Friday night he explains how honoured he is to have reached such a milestone wearing the red and blue.

“I’m obviously very privileged to reach the 100 game milestone on Friday night,” Grigg said.

“I’ve loved playing for the Norwood Football Club since I made my debut here in 2009.

“The Club has always welcomed me since I first arrived, so as person I just want to continue repaying the faith and hopefully I can play another 100 here.”

Unsurprisingly, Grigg nominates the 2013 Grand Final as his greatest playing achievement.

“The 2013 grand final is obviously the highlight of my career. The boys worked extremely hard that year and the feeling after the siren goes is something else.

“It’s been a great journey since I have arrived back, especially winning the Magarey last year.

“Hopefully though I can win a couple of more Premierships before I finish that’s the ultimate goal.”

Grigg also went onto mention that over his years playing for Norwood he has enjoyed playing with and learning off a host of stars.

Grigg, however can go past midfield gun Brett Zorzi as favourite to play with.

“As a midfielder over my time I can’t go past Brett Zorzi,” Grigg said.

“He (Zorzi) always found a way to get the job done and that’s something that I have always admired from him.

“At the moment playing alongside Panos and Baulderstone each week is enjoyable as well because they are both terrific players.

“But overall, i’ve really enjoyed my first 100 games and hoping to achieve more success as I get older.”
