It is with great pleasure that we commence our 2018 campaign with our second recruit, returning Redleg, Mitch Wilkins.
Wilkins is an ex-AFL listed player at North Melbourne and joins the Norwood Football Club from The Old Melbournians Football Club.
The 23-year old is a crafty defender/midfielder whose use of the football will be a major factor for Norwood heading into the 2018 Season.
Wilkins was drafted to North Melbourne with pick 47 in the 2012 National Draft and then returned to the Parade in 2015 managing only 12 games after sustaining a broken wrist which ruled him out for the season.
Speaking to Wilkins on his return back to the Parade, he mentioned he was looking forward to being reacquainted with old team mates after spending three years in Melbourne.
“It’s pretty exciting to return to Norwood in 2018,” said Wilkins.
“It’s obviously my home club, so I was pretty keen to come back and play for Norwood next year.
“One of the reasons coming back is definitely the chance to play with a fantastic group of players and obviously to be coached by Jarrod Cotton.
“So, I’m hoping 2018 can bring us some success and can’t wait for preseason to start.”
