Most Norwood Goals in a Last Quarter

The Norwood Football Club History Committee has confirmed that the final quarter score of 13.1 against Sturt on Saturday was the highest final quarter in the club’s history. Prior to that the highest final quarter tally was 12-2 (9 June 1979) when Norwood defeated West Torrens at Football Park 28-11 to 10-8.

It was equal second on the list for highest quarter scores in our 140 year history. The only 2 quarters to equal or better it were both in the 2nd quarter:

Round 18, 25 August 1990 v Woodville at Woodville Oval.
13 goals, 6 behinds taking us from 4-3 to 17-9 at half time.
Final score: Norwood 25-19, Woodville 9-12.

Round 7, 29 May 1965 v Central District at Norwood Oval.
12 goals, 7 behinds taking us from 3-3 to 15-10 at half time.
Final score: Norwood 28-16, Central District 12-11,
Ian Brewer kicked 10 goals, Robert Oatey 4 and Haydn Bunton 3.
This was Ron Kneebone’s 150th game.
