Scott Borlace grew up in Kadina, and played his early football for Norwood’s development squads (Under 13-15’s), and also for the Modbury Hawks. When his family moved into North Adelaide’s zone, Norwood applied for a transfer, thus allowing Borlace to continue playing for the Redlegs. In 1996, Borlace played 11 games in his first season of Under 17’s. The following year he captained the side to a Grand Final and was awarded the McCallum Medal for the fairest and most brilliant player in the League Under 17 competition. He also represented South Australia at Under 16 schoolboys level.
