Norwood’s Reserves got their season underway against Sturt FC on Easter Monday.
The Redlegs got off to a slow start and were unable to recover on their way to heartbreaking 12.12 (84) to 13.10 (88) loss at the hands of the Double Blues at Coopers Stadium.
After finding themselves three goals down at three quarter time, the Redlegs fought back to lead by two points in the last few minutes.
Unfortunately Sturt found a winner, leaving Norwood shattered after what was an enthralling comeback.
Darcy Pisani was impressive for the Redlegs gathering 26 disposals, while Harry Viney had 24 along with six tackles.
Forward Daniel Johnston was also amongst Norwood’s best performers, with the former Murray Bushranger forward booting three goals.
Youngster Zac Richards and James Siviour were also key contributors at opposite ends of the ground.
