The Redlegs will travel to Gliderol Stadium on Saturday afternoon to face Glenelg in Round 3 of the SANFL Maccas League.
After notching up their first win of the year last weekend Norwood head into tomorrow’s clash confident of making it two wins in a row.
Norwood in Round 1 fell to the reigning Premiers Sturt by 13-points however bounced back last weekend by dispatching South by 47-points.
Speaking to the Head Coach of the Redlegs Jarrod Cotton, he mentioned that last weekend’s result against the Panthers has boosted the morale of the side heading into tomorrow’s clash with the Bays.
“It was a really pleasing win last Sunday against a tough opposition in South,” said Cotton.
“The boys trained extremely hard over the pre-season so it was great to be rewarded with a win last week.
“I thought last weekend we showed our fans how we want to play, particularly in the third quarter.
“But for the players it was a really good confidence boost that we needed heading into tomorrow’s match with Glenelg.”
Norwood is set to regain former North Melbourne midfielder, Brad McKenzie after a stint in the reserves last week, as well as pacey wingman Zac Richards who also returns to the squad of 23.
In regards to the competition for spots Cotton admits it’s what he wants to see, highlighting the clubs depth at this current point in time.
“It’s the hardest thing about being a Coach, picking the best team,” Cotton said.
“As a football club we need to have that pressure, we need people to know that you have to perform well otherwise you don’t play.
“It creates a great culture at the football club knowing anyone can step in and perform a role.
“It’s great to see because it means that the blokes who are playing at the minute have to play well because these guys will be pushing them.”
