NORWOOD has slipped to a second-straight loss after going down to North Adelaide by 44- points in an ANZAC Round blockbuster.

On a warm day in Adelaide, the Redlegs trailed for the majority of the day, eventually being blown away in the final term.

North had the better of the early stages as goalsneak Robbie Young kicked the first of the match inside the first minute of play.

The Roosters early momentum allowed them four scoring shots in a row opening up a 14-point lead 10 minutes into the first term.

Norwood responded soon after as 2017 Magarey Medallist Mitch Grigg managed to kick his first of the match, before some delightful ground work by Luke Wilson allowed him to capitalise reducing the margin to just two points.

The Roosters despite Norwoods pressure claimed four goals late in the quarter and held a 20-point advantage at the first break.

Norwood started the second term in control as Luke Surman kicked truly from 35-metres reducing the deficit to 13-points.

North new recruit Aidan Tropiano broke the Redlegs momentum soon after as he kicked a long running goal to hand the home side a 19-point advantage.

Norwood however, weren’t able to capitalise on their chances kicking three behinds in a row before Grigg kicked his second just on half time rolling the ball through from 50-metres.

North started the third term how they left off, with Robbie Young kicking his third stretching the margin to 22-points.

Declan Hamilton restored some faith in Norwood kicking his first of the contest eight minutes into the third however Lewis Hender and Alex Spina replied instantly.

North kicked nine goals to Norwood’s four in the third term giving them a comfortable 45-point lead at the last change.

Despite Norwood continuing to push forward in search for answers the Roosters ability to apply pressure and transition quickly was too much for Norwood to handle resulting in an eventual margin of 44-points.

Norwood will look to respond this Friday night as they face the Crows in an important Round 5 clash.
