The Norwood Football Club will face West Adelaide in Round Two of the Statewide Super SANFL Women’s League on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Legs will be looking for their second win in a row after defeating North Adelaide last weekend at the Parade by 23-points.
Norwood’s win did come at the expense of new recruit Stana Zecevic and Premiership Player Cassandra Tsoumbris who were both injured during the clash last weekend. Norwood will also be without star midfielder Marijana Rajcic who will feature for Adelaide this weekend.
It provides an opportunity for Lisa-Jane Millard, Kayley Pearson and Ashlee Gould to all make their senior debuts for 2018.
Norwood faces a tough challenge in the Bloods after their comfortable 30-point win over Sturt. However, in their past two meetings in 2017 Norwood defeated Westies convincingly by 51 and 75.
Speaking to Head-Coach of the Redlegs, Steve Symonds he mentioned he was glad to get the first win on the board however ensured his side still have plenty of improvement left.
“Although we had a really good win against North last weekend we know heading into this weekend we can’t afford to just rock up and think things are just going to happen,” said Symonds.
“We have a lot of areas in our game that we have to work on and try to improve and establish.
“So we will be focusing on that and getting those areas right and if that’s good enough to us a win that’s great.
“But like I said we are all about trying to get our game up and running properly to only win games but play good football.”
