We came into this Under 15 Championship off the back of a strong program, layered with strong showings in trials and fierce competition on the track for spots. Bringing in a very talented and deep squad to the championships, we headed down to Noarlunga for our first match of the week. Despite controlling the flow and possession for the majority of the match, our boys struggled to adjust to the conditions and were ineffective when going forward, leading to an 8 point loss despite doubling the opposition scoring shots. Coming back to Coopers Stadium the following day saw a more focused disposition from all of the boys, with everyone looking to prove themselves and prove that they could learn from their mistakes. A credit to the character of the group, the boys were able to fix their mistakes from the first match and started to play our brand of Norwood Football – resulting in a 24 point win over West Adelaide.

Heading into the final round robin match we held a narrow lead on percentage in a division of equal points. Understanding the situation the boys came into the game determined to leave nothing to chance. Knowing that we needed to get the job done against a fast finishing Woodville West Torrens side, and that we would have to have a solid win to ensure our spot in the final, the boys put together the best four quarter effort across the board for the season. While the final result (a 103 point win) was pleasing, the boys demonstrated outstanding team first attitudes and focus throughout the game and post-match. We are extremely proud of the boy’s efforts and development of the program and across the week particularly, but both the coaching staff and the players are clear and determined to go one better. We head into tomorrow’s final against an undefeated Glenelg side, confident in our processes and abilities to tick off one more box. We welcome the challenge and are ready to get the job done one more time.
