Established midfielder, Mitch Wilkins says he is aiming for a consistent year as he returns for his second stint at the Parade in 2018.
Wilkins was originally drafted to North Melbourne with pick 47 in the 2012 National Draft and returned to the Parade in 2015 playing 12 games.
The 23-year old proves to be a handy acquisition for Norwood with his ability to play both on the wing and at half-back.
Speaking to Wilkins about his return, he mentioned that he has adjusted really well back to life in Adelaide and credit’s his teammates and coaches for welcoming him back with open arms.
“I’ve adjusted really well since returning to Adelaide towards the end of last year,” Wilkins said.
“We have a great group of guys here that are very friendly and are easy to get along with.
“We have some really good leaders as well, so you get pointed in the right direction and you are always learning under there guidance.
“So, for me it’s been a really smooth transition and I’m stoked to have returned back to Norwood.”
Looking into the 2018 SANFL Season, Wilkins is aiming to gain consistency in his football, while as a team; he said a Premiership is certainly on everyone’s radar.
“Personally, this year it’s probably a bit more about finding some consistency with my footy,” Wilkins said.
“We have had a really good pre-season which definitely will assist us in making sure we are consistent football team in 2018.
“On a team level, we have very high hopes especially in the way that we have been training so far.
“I really want to win a Premiership this year, so I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure we give ourselves the best possible chance of success.”
Norwood faces P.A.C at 7pm in their first Trial Match of 2018 at Coopers Stadium on Friday the 9th of March.
