Norwood has claimed back to back wins in the U16s for the first time this season, defeating Sturt by 35 points at Norwood Oval on Friday night.
The Redlegs have now secured three wins in the 2026 season, showing great improvement week on week.
The home side booted the first four goals of the match, before Sturt steadied to kick three of the next four to make it a seven-point game mid way through the second term.
The Redlegs made sure it was their night, booting five of the next six coming out of half time to seal the win, going 40 points ahead early in the final term.
Norwood’s classy players stood out. Zephyr Thomson finished with four goals from 25 disposals, Tyler Hitch two goals from 26 touches and Kalani Fraser 20 disposals, six tackles and a goal.

Sturt was too strong for Norwood in the U18 Boys clash at Norwood Oval on Friday evening.
The Redlegs hung in the contest all night, trailing by 10 points at quarter time and 18 points at half time, but struggled to convert in the 27-point 10.8-68 to 5.11-41 loss, despite winning inside 50m entries +13.
It was a similar tale to last week, where Norwood recorded 57 inside 50m entries against the Eagles for just six goals.
Trailing by 24 points at the final break, Norwood had plenty of chances to put Sturt under scoreboard pressure, but booted 2.5 to the Double Blues 3.1.
Will Tanner has been outstanding in his first season at The Parade, finishing with 28 disposals, seven tackles and four clearances, while Mason Tambe had 26 disposals and nine tackles.
State Squad member Kai Ivins had 23 disposals, while captain Harvey Pearce finished with two goals.
