Norwood suffered a 43-point loss to Woodville-West Torrens in Round 6 of the SANFL Wheelchair Football League on Friday.
The Redlegs were coming off competitive performances against Sturt and Central District in recent weeks but found themselves down by 23-points at quarter time in the 4.5-29 to 11.6-72 loss.
Whilst it wasn’t the result the Redlegs were chasing, it was a much improved performance when comparing the two sides last encounter, where Norwood lost by 115-points.
Both sides scored a goal apiece in the second quarter with the Eagles holding a 25-point lead at half time.
The Eagles outscored the Redlegs by five-points in the third quarter but it was the fourth quarter that saw the Eagles runaway with a strong win, keeping the Redlegs scoreless and converting another two goals as they took advantage of the time they had the ball in their forward half.
Captain Grant Leonard was important again for the Redlegs with three goals whilst Rick Leonard also made his way on to the scoresheet with one goal.
All teams have a week off this week, with Norwood facing Central District in Round 7 when competition resumes on Friday 21 July.
Despite still being winless this season, the Redlegs continue to improve as a team, and the weekly results are showing this, with deficits decreasing as the team works hard on their processes.
After a strong showing against the Central District in Round 4, the Redlegs will be confident that they can produce another competitive performance against the Bulldogs as they chase their first win of 2023.
