Norwood Football Club will be returning to its regional zone of Eyre Peninsula next week to play its round six SANFL match against West Adelaide.
The game will be played at Port Lincoln’s Centenary Oval on Saturday 9 May and will be the fifth time the Redlegs have brought one of their home games to the region.
Now known as The Eyre Peninsula Cup, Norwood has won the Port Lincoln game in two of the four seasons thus far, and after the Adelaide Crows travelled to the EP last season, it will be the Bloods who head west in 2026.
Norwood FC chief executive officer Richard Kelly said the club was excited to once again bring a SANFL match to its regional zone.
“We are very proud to represent the Eyre Peninsula, and play this game in Port Lincoln,” he said.
“We are constantly amazed by the commitment of local EP players and their families that travel to Adelaide to pursue their football.
“The least we can do is bring a game back to the region.”
Norwood captain Jacob Kennerley is from Cummins, while key forward Tristan Binder (Port Lincoln) and small forward Jayden Gale (Cummins) are among several players on the senior men’s list.
The EP’s Lani Cocks, Amelia Rusden, Ella Anderson and Sharmaine Crosby are on the senior women’s list, while many other EP players run out each week in the Redlegs’ junior boys and girls squads.
Tickets to this year’s Eyre Peninsula Cup game will be just $10, while U18s get in free. Get your tickets to the game through the link below.
