Norwood’s Senior Women’s squad has enjoyed a positive start to 2024, with both the SANFLW and Development League sides securing wins across all four Trial Matches.
The Redlegs concluded their Trial Matches in warm conditions at Coopers Stadium on Saturday, with two wins over Glenelg.
Norwood’s SANFLW side claimed a 22-point win over the Tigers, 8.8-56 to 5.4-34.
Amelia Rusden and Jade Halfpenny each kicked two goals, while Elle Lineage, Adrienne Davies, Tahlita Buethke and Kiana Lee kicked one apiece.
Earlier in the day Norwood’s Development League team had to overcome a four-goal half time deficit to fight back and win 7.4-46 to 5.3-33.
First year player Isabella Calvanese starred for the Redlegs Development League side, booting four goals while Kaitey Whittaker, Alana Lishmund, and Mykaela Walker kicked one each.
In the first Trial on February 10, Norwood’s SANFLW side claimed a 15-point win over North, 9.7-61 to 7.4-46, while the Development League won by four points, 7.5-47 to 6.7-43.
Norwood’s SANFLW Round 1 match is scheduled for Friday night, March 1 at Coopers Stadium against reigning premiers Central District.
Norwood’s Senior Men’s Trial Matches will take place on Saturday, March 9 against North at Coopers Stadium (2:10pm), and Saturday, March 16 against South Adelaide in Noarlunga (1:10pm).
