The Norwood Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Richard Kelly as the club’s General Manager of Football.
Richard is a past player, playing 81 matches for Norwood from 1990 to 1997, before heading to Glenelg and playing a further 48 SANFL matches. He won the Glenelg 1999 Best and Fairest, and represented South Australia on two occasions.
Richard served on the Norwood Football Club Board from 2011 to 2014, and has recently work in the club’s commercial and membership department.
Prior to his work with Norwood, Richard has spent time working within the AFL industry, across the club, player, and commercial side of the industry.
Richard has also been involved in the sport at community level with the Glenunga Football Club in a junior coaching and committee level, giving him experience across all levels of football in this state.
“I am excited to be back at Norwood in a full time capacity,” Richard said.
“The club is in a great spot and I am looking forward to contributing to growing all of our football programs to ensure we are strong on and off the field.”
Norwood CEO James Fantasia welcomed Richard into the role.
“In the search for a new General Manager of Football we were very happy with the high quality of applicants across the board,” he said.
“Richard was a very worthy candidate, and heads into the role with a wealth of experience and knowledge in football and across the corporate landscape.
“We know he will do an outstanding job, and compliment the program already in place.”
