Norwood’s SANFLW side will take on Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium this Saturday.
It will be an intriguing Round 6 battle in Glenelg on Saturday with the Tigers sitting on top of the SANFLW ladder with a 4-1 win-loss record, and the Redlegs third at 3-2.
The SANFLW competition had a bye last weekend for the AFL’s Gather Round, but in Round 5 Norwood enjoyed a comfortable win over Sturt 9.6-60 to 3.4-22, while Glenelg were dealt its first loss of the season by the second placed South Adelaide, 4.3-27 to 0.5-5.
Norwood has made a series of changes from it’s Round 5 victory a fortnight ago, with Mykaela Walker coming into the side for her SANFLW debut. Lauren Smith, Emma Clark, Nicola Burns and Georgina Birchall also come into the League side.
SANFLW sides are now battling with the loss of AFLW listed players, as well as State Football commitments, which sees Port Adelaide AFLW listed players Molly Brooksby and Sachi Syme, and Adelaide Crow Najwa Allen drop out of the side.
Young ruck Kate Alexander has been selected in the State U16 team, while Charli Hazelhurst is also unavailable due to State Netball.
The Development League side has a top of the table clash with Glenelg, with both sides sitting one and two on the ladder with a 4-1 record.
Taylah Roberts, Courtney Rossi, Lindsay Bigg, Kaitey Whittaker and Jess Williams come into the side, with Jiarna Zerella (injury), Kiarra Leopold (injury), Elke Cameron (State U16 Football) and Charlee Brooksby (State U16 Football) out. Lillian Thomas is the fourth Norwood player to be in the State U16 Football Squad.
