Born on 21 June 1923, Ken Warren first appeared in Norwood colours in 1941 as a Colts player. He subsequently enlisted in the RAAF during World War II and re-appeared in 1947 after his discharge.
At that time he was described as “showing promise”. At 6’1” (185cms) and 13.0 stones (83 kgs) he was also described as a tall ruckman who “should make a name for himself later on as he is still very young; very cool and polished in his work”.
