It’s going to be a big night a Coopers Stadium this Friday, as the club hosts its annual FORTIS Army Match and Remembrance Round fixture.
The FORTIS Army Match has been an integral part of the Norwood Football Club since the 2020 Covid-19 interrupted season, where the club invited members and supporters down onto the playing surface pre-game to form a guard of honour for the Redlegs players to run through at The Parade End.
At the time it was a thank you to members and supporters that stuck by the club and purchased the “FORTIS ARMY” apparel range during the period when the club couldn’t operate during the 2020 Covid-19 season, and has been a key round on the calendar ever since – taking place at the last home game of each season.
Fortis in Procella – Strength in Adversity
This Friday night against North Adelaide, Norwood is scheduled to run on the field at 7:30pm from the Redlegs Parade End race. Please make your way onto the ground after the Reserves match and form the guard of honour, which will snake from the players race to the Eastern Wing.
Make your way off the ground as quickly as possible so the players can warm up down the Southern End.
At 7:20pm – the Remembrance Round Video will be played on the big screen, as our club tributes Norwood players, officials, members, supporters and Redlegs people who have passed away.
