Join our team of NFC sports trainers

The Norwood Football Club is seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic and motivated people to join its Sports Trainer Team.

Positions are available within the club’s Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s and Junior Pathway programs.

The Norwood Football Club is a supportive and encouraging environment and sports trainers will be working alongside Physiotherapists, Doctors, S&C staff, sports trainers and physicians who are highly experienced and incredible mentors.

Sports trainers of all experiences will be given the opportunity further their education and training.

The club can contribute towards its sports trainers to complete their Level 1 or Level 2 training courses.

A trainers certificate will be considered, as well as First Aid and CPR training.

 

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

  • To help deliver sports specific First Aid, taping and massage that fits the needs of players

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Monitor and deliver First Aid and occurrence of injury treatments at games and trainings
  • Assist with running of medical area including hydration and cleaning
  • Assist in taping players for prevention of injury and stability for games and trainings
  • Monitor players during games and trainings with regards to potential injuries or occurrence of injuries and initial treatment of
  • Assess, record and document players injuries that occur during games and training

TIME COMMITMENT:

Game day availability a must, sports trainers are asked to attend a minimum of one training session per week where possible and game days. Training nights are as follows:

  • Senior Men’s – Training on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games on weekends from March 2025. Pre-Season commencing December 2024.
  • Senior Women’s – Training on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Games on weekends from February 2025. Pre-Season commencing November 2024.
  • Juniors – Training on Wednesdays and Fridays. Games on weekends from March 2025. Pre-Season commencing November 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants are encouraged to obtain their Level 1 Sports Trainer certificate
  • In-house/on the job training also provided
  • Applicants must have or obtain the following:
  • Working With Children’s Check
  • Current First Aid
  • Current CPR
