The Norwood Football Club is excited by a new partnership with sports footwear provider Vimazi.
Vimazi footwear is uniquely scientifically engineered with pace-tuned cushioning, making it the only running shoe brand designed to optimize energy return and impact absorption based on a runner’s specific pace.
Unlike traditional shoes that offer generic cushioning, Vimazi’s midsole is scientifically calibrated to deliver the right balance of softness and responsiveness for different speeds—ensuring maximum efficiency, reduced fatigue, and improved performance over any distance.
Starting in 2025, the Norwood Football Club has commenced the partnership with Vimazi, who will provide shoes and “Superfeet” inserts to players awarded best on ground in both the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s League matches.
Vimazi Medical Advisory Board Member and life-long Redlegs supporter and former club podiatrist, Simon Bartold, said he was excited to combine his two passions together through this partnership.
“I guess I was about five years old when I went to my first Redlegs game,” he said.
“My mum and dad were red and blue blooded and had Western Stand memberships for us and my two brothers. We never missed a game and often made the long trek out to Elizabeth Oval.
“Fast forward quite a few years, and I found myself as Norwood’s team podiatrist, right in the thick of the glory days of 1982 and 1984. I stayed in this role until 1990 but never lost my passion for the mighty Leggies.
“So, it is a real thrill and privilege to be on board as a sponsor with the Norwood Football Club for season 2025, and to be able to supply Vimazi footwear and Superfeet insoles to the players.”

Simon is a globally recognised expert in this field, having authored numerous books in the fields of sports injury, biomechanics and athletic footwear across his 40-year career in sports medicine and podiatry.
He is credited with many footwear inventions including ASICS IGS and HG10mm technologies, while his innovation and design footprint may be seen in current ASICS, Salomon and XBlades shoes.
Simon – who sits on the Vimazi Medical Advisory Board alongside other world-renowned experts New York’s Karen Langone and London’s Trevor Prior – said Vimazi’s shoes and Superfeet insole technology stood out in today’s market.
“Superfeet insoles stand out due to their signature shape and biomechanical support, designed to enhance comfort, alignment, and efficiency,” he said.
“Superfeet feature a deep, structured heel cup and a stabilising foundation, which work together to reduce foot fatigue, improve pressure distribution, and enhance overall foot function.
“With models tailored specifically for football, Superfeet provides a customised, performance-driven fit that sets them apart from other brands. So we can accurately figure out what shoe would best suit a ruckman or an on-baller, depending on how fast they can run.”
The club is excited to see this partnership flourish, and are looking forward to seeing Norwood players hit the track in Vimazi scientifically engineered footwear.
