Past Player of the Week – Earle Heidenreich

Norwood lost two stalwarts within a month with the deaths of brothers Earle and Glen Heidenreich in 2016. Earle, a member of the 1948 premiership team, was 89 when he died at Cummins on the 24th May.  Glen, 86, passed away on the 17th June.

Grandsons of the legendary Ted Heidenreich, Norwood President from 1940 to 1962, the brothers played under captain-coach Jack Oatey – sometimes in the same team – and never lost their enthusiasm for the Norwood Football Club.
