Norwood heads to Alberton Oval this Sunday to take on Port Adelaide for the first time this season.
In a strange quirk to the 2025 fixture, the Redlegs have played Sturt, Glenelg and South Adelaide twice in the opening 11 matches, before finally facing their traditional rivals in Port Adelaide in Round 12.
Norwood is again taking in an unchanged line-up, for the fourth straight match, with Jayden Gale, Max Hodges and Ben Simpson named on an extended bench.
Norwood has gone with a win-loss-win-loss record for the last six weeks following wins against the bottom sides South Adelaide (twice) and West Adelaide, and close losses against Central District, Sturt and Glenelg.
The Redlegs have been much improved following a slow start to the season, but will be hoping to turn good performances into wins against teams above them on the ladder.
Port Adelaide also started the season slowly, with just one win from its first six games, but the Magpies have won three of their last four. They secured three straight wins against the Eagles, West Adelaide and North Adelaide before a surprise loss to South last week.
Being an AFL affiliated side, the Magpies selection is dependent on the Power’s game against Brisbane in Queensland on Saturday night. Last week, the Magpies had a strong side with 20-AFL listed players taking on the Panthers, including Ryan Burton and Jack Lukosius.
The Magpies side has improved since the Mid-Season Draft when they selected Harrison Ramm from Glenelg, Ewan Mackinlay from North Adelaide and Mani Liddy from Centrals. Liddy has played the last three AFL games.
While Norwood’s League side is at Alberton on Sunday, the Reserves take on the Eagles at Coopers Stadium on Saturday in a Triple Header, which kicks off with the U18s at 10am, U16 from 12:30pm and Reserves from 2:50pm.
