Round 16 Teams

Norwood return from last week’s Bye with everything to play for, taking on the in-form Adelaide Crows at Coopers Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

There’s plenty on the line for both sides this Saturday, with Norwood fighting for a spot in the top five, while the Crows could all but wrap up a top-three finish with a win at The Parade.

Norwood will mark the day by celebrating Count Me In Round, with the club reinforcing its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across the community.

The action on the field will get underway at 10:20am with the Redlegs hosting West Adelaide in the Reserves, before the league contest kicks off at 1:10pm.

Norwood will go in full of confidence following a 131-point thrashing of the Eagles a fortnight ago, but will face fierce opposition from a Crows team that have won six of their past seven matches.

Adelaide, which defeated Port Adelaide by 15 points in their most recent outing, have been one of the League’s standout teams this season and currently sit in third spot with an 11-3 record.

Norwood remain in sixth place with a 5-9 record, but boast a healthy percentage of 53.4% on the back of drastically improved form in recent weeks.

However, the Redlegs will be desperate to claim consecutive wins for the first time this season after several near-misses against top sides this year.

One of those was their most recent clash against Adelaide back in Round 5 in Port Lincoln, which saw Norwood lose by 21 points despite earning nine more scoring shots and 21 more inside 50s.

The Redlegs have made one forced change this weekend, as Cooper Murley comes out of the team with the hamstring injury he suffered in Round 14.

Among the In’s on an Extended Bench are Daniel Gauci, who has been in excellent form in the Reserves, as well as Izaak Twelftree who comes back from a groin injury which has seen him miss the last three matches.

Oscar Hodge is also listed in the 25-man squad, as is U18 defender Balyn O’Brien who is in line to make a debut if selected in the final side.
