Semi Final Teams

Norwood’s Finals Series has stretched into week two, following last Sunday’s 18-point victory over Central District which set up a Semi Final meeting with the Adelaide Crows.

Norwood came from behind to defeat the Bulldogs in last Sunday’s Elimination Final, trailing by nine points at the final change. During the week Norwood Coach Jade Sheedy spoke of his side’s belief that they can win games from any position.

This comes off the back of walking the tightrope of having to win their last four matches of the season just to make it to the Semi Final, coming from behind in all four games against Westies, North, Port and Centrals.

“I think the last month we have come from behind, and our fitness is at a really strong level and our ability to play every contest and every minute of the game is strong,” Sheedy said.

“That will hold us in good stead and gives the group the belief that no matter where we are positioned in the game, we can overrun opposition if we need to.

“The boys train really hard. Scott Bassett does an unbelievable job as our strength and conditioning coach, and we’re in a good space with all of that, so it gives good confidence on a big oval in high-intensity games that we can outrun opposition.”

Norwood has added three players to its extended bench, Josh Gillow, Liam Ling and Jack Saunders, but is otherwise unchanged from the side that defeated the Bulldogs last Sunday.

If the Redlegs win, they will take on the loser of the Sturt V Glenelg match, which will take place from 3:15pm at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
