The Norwood Football Club has a lot of new faces in the office, and as we transition into the 2026 pre-season, now is the perfect time to introduce them all.
Whilst Richard Kelly isn’t a new face at Norwood, he’s new in the CEO chair, taking over the reins from James Fantasia in July 2025. Prior to becoming the CEO, Richard was the General Manager of Football, and also worked in the club’s membership department. Richard played 81 games for Norwood in the 1990s, so is well and truly part of the fabric at the Redlegs.
Norwood has welcomed Simon Dennis and Daniel Menzel to the staff group over recent months.
Daniel is the most recent addition to Norwood’s staff, starting in October as the club’s General Manager of Football. Daniel’s resume speaks for itself, having played 80 AFL games with Geelong and Sydney, before returning to the SANFL and becoming a Premiership player with Woodville West Torrens.
Daniel has also had coaching experience with back to back River Murray Football League reigning premiers, the Coorong Cats. He’s also worked in the media with SEN SA, and been involved with various businesses in the resilience space. We are extremely excited that Daniel’s next chapter begins at The Parade.
Simon started as the club’s Commercial Operations Manager in September, and comes to the club with substantial experience in similar roles, most recently at Fresh FM. Simon also has past experience in football, a member of Richmond’s AFL list in 1993, spending a short time at Norwood, before heading to Sturt.
Jade Sheedy will go into his second season as Norwood’s League coach in 2026, and there’s great positivity surrounding the Senior group after an impressive run home in 2025. There has been a change of Senior Women’s coach, as Ben Hunt steps into the role for next season, taking over from Brad Ferrall.
“Rex” Hunt has been a successful coach in the SANFLW, winning Central District’s first Senior Women’s premiership, and enjoying amazing success across many years and age groups at Payneham-Norwood Union. Kelly Rossi will continue as Female Football Manager, assisted by past player Shenae Walker who has started as Female Junior Pathways Coordinator in a new role.
