Past Player of the Week – Anthony Pierri

After joining Norwood via Rostrevor College, Anthony “Plugger” Pierri commenced the 1992 season in the under 19s. He quickly progressed through the grades however, and made his league debut in Round 20 of the same season.

A robust full forward, Pierri was an accurate kick for goal and capable of taking a strong mark. However he struggled to cement a regular spot in the league side. His chances were not helped by the presence of Christopher Prime during his time at The Parade as the selectors found it difficult to fit both forwards in the line-up.
