Past Player of the Week – Ray Von Einem

In 1952 Ray Von Einem was named best ruckman in the Norwood junior colts team. In the same year he was selected as a follower resting in the back pocket, in the senior colts grand final versus Port Adelaide.

In 1953 he was the senior colts “Best Placed Man”.

He started the 1954 season on the reserves training list, and the following year made his league debut in round 3, against Port Adelaide at Alberton. Norwood were beaten in a thriller: 10.14 to 11.10. Von Einem played 11 games in his debut season and was named “Best First Year Follower”.
