With the 2019 season passing the half-way mark and Norwood with a bye this coming weekend, Norwood Media has looked at the Legs’ best contributors on the stat sheet.
It’s no surprise to see Brad McKenzie leading a range of categories, after a fantastic start to the 2019 season.
McKenzie leads the Legs for marks (9.1 per game), and kicks (19.1), as well as sitting second to Lewis Johnston for average disposals (24.6).
Johnston has also enjoyed a stellar season, leading Norwood in disposals (28.1), and second for kicks (18.1).
Reigning Magarey Medallist Mitch Grigg has missed one game due to suspension, however, leads Norwood for clearances (6.0) and handballs (11.0).
Grigg sits second in a few categories including inside 50s and tackles.
Another midfielder who has quietly gone about his business is off-season recruit, Dom Barry.
The number 12 ranks first for Inside 50s (4.4) fourth for disposals (22.2) and third for goals, averaging 1.1 per game.
After breaking onto the scene last year Cole Gerloff has now become a critical member of the midfield, and the stats highlight just how important he is.
Gerloff leads the Legs for tackles averaging 6.1 per game and sits fourth for goals booting 12 for the year.
Gerloff will continue to improve and will look forward to spending more time with Matthew Nunn and Matthew Panos when they return from injury.
There are no surprises in the goal department, with Peter Bampton’s 1.7 goals per game a clear standout. Bampton also sits second for contested marks (1.2).
Anthony Wilson follows him with 1.4 goals per game, with Dom Barry next best at 1.3.
