NORWOOD can confirm Will Abbott will miss the rest of the 2019 season due to a knee injury.
Football Operations Manager Mark Ross said Abbott’s recovery would be approximately six months.
“After consultation with doctors and medical staff, Abbott’s knee injury sustained in Round five against Adelaide hasn’t fully healed in the manner they had hoped.”
Although it’s disappointing that Will will miss the remainder of the year, ultimately the decision was made to ensure he is ready for the 2020 SANFL Season.
“We know he will dedicate himself to his rehabilitation program over the next few months, with the full support of the entire club.”
Full forward Luke Surman’s rib injury is far better than first thought and is now listed as a test leading into our next game against Sturt.
Rebounding defender Tom Forster is progressing well after injuring his hip against Adelaide in Round 12.
Forster is a chance to return after the bye against Sturt in Round 16.
Brodie Carroll is also a chance to return against Sturt after a hamstring has ruled him out for the past two matches.
Carroll is making good progress and is also a chance to return after the bye this weekend.
