Barry proves his worth

For Norwood, a player who proved himself in 2019, was gun midfielder Dom Barry.

Swapping the black and white of Port Adelaide for the Red and Blue of Norwood, Barry was an excitement machine in 2019.

With the Redlegs welcoming Cody Szust and Henry Crauford in the early going, Norwood welcomed Barry to the Parade in late November.

The 25-year old didn’t miss a beat playing all 18 Home and Away games including both final appearances.

Barry was ranked in the top 10 in the competition for inside 50s while averaging nearly 20 disposals per game.

Among Norwood supporters, his impact was praised from the get-go: similarly, the wider football world took notice of the damaging left-footer.

Barry capped off a stellar year in the red and blue, winning the Channel 7 Goal of the Year against Adelaide in Round 7, along with finishing sixth overall in the clubs Best and Fairest.

Barry has been a breath of fresh air for the Redlegs faithful and has combined well with fellow speedster Anthony Wilson in breaking lines and kicking plenty of goals.

The 25-year old will again be a key pillar in Norwood’s midfield and will look to replicate that form again in 2020.
