It’s an exciting time to be around the Norwood Football Club!
The Wolf Blass Community Centre is progressing well with the grand opening planned for May next year. As you can see from the photos the first-floor slab has been poured and over the coming weeks, you will see the structural steel and precast panelling for the first floor installed.
Although difficult to see from the outside, there has been an enormous amount of work undertaken on our change rooms and the mezzanine floor which will house the new office, including the footy department. The other great news is that the toilets under the Western Stand are also being renovated as part of this redevelopment which is long overdue. The away change rooms under the Western Stand are also progressing well and there is no doubt when the work is completed, we will have an outstanding facility for all to use.
There is no doubt the fantastic relationship between the Football Club, NPSP Council and Schiavello is leading to an excellent outcome, that we will enjoy for many years to come! Besides a Premiership in 2020, this is probably the best Christmas present we could receive as a Football Club, as we are finally seeing our home, our fort being built!
We are still looking to raise money for the build so if you haven’t purchased a picket please contact the Club. For as little as $250 you can have your own piece of Norwood Oval forever ($200 is tax-deductible). To purchase a picket click here, or call the club on 8362 6278.
In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and safe and prosperous New Year.
President, Paul Di Iulio
