The Norwood Football Club would like to provide a pre-season update to its partners, members and supporters.
The Redlegs commenced pre-season training on Monday night after breaking up for two weeks over the Christmas period.
Senior Coach Jarrod Cotton said the squad trained well up until the Christmas break and will now ramp up their load in the lead up to the 2020 SANFL Statewide Super League Season.
“We had roughly 60 players training up to Christmas which was excellent,” Cotton said.
“We gave an opportunity to 10 of our under 18 players to experience training with the senior group – and they were really impressive.
“As a collective the boys had a great attitude to the workload and had a lot of personal bests in the running component.
“With the boys’ back training now, the foundation laid in the lead up to Christmas was essentially the first phase, now we transition into more the match simulation, game setup and structures.
Luke Surman is currently the only player on the long-term injury list, after suffering a bulged disc before Christmas.
The 22-year old will be sidelined for the next eight weeks.
Anthony Wilson and Cody Szust have recovered from their respective injuries and have resumed full training.
