Norwood superstar Mitch Grigg has publicly stated he has no intentions of leaving the Parade despite still being a chance to get drafted under the AFL’s new pre-season supplemental selection period (SPP).
Grigg has decided that his long term future is with Norwood and remains comfortable with his decision to stay put for the 2019 season no matter what.
Since joining Norwood at the end of 2016 from the Adelaide Football Club, Grigg has been the form player of the competition for the past two seasons.
His ability to win the ball at the source and hit the scoreboard has seen him elevate his game to a whole new level in his second lease of life at the Parade.
The 25-year old enjoyed an outstanding year in 2018, culminating in a second straight Magarey Medal a first ever Jack Oatey Medal, first ever Michael Taylor Medal and second straight appearance in the Advertiser Team of the Year.
Grigg won the 2018 SANFL Goal of the Year with a beauty against the Roosters in Round 18 as well as walked away with the clubs leading goal kicker award with 35.
After talks with his management Grigg has expressed his desire to stay at Norwood and has signed a new deal to keep him at the Parade until the end of 2019.
Grigg, said he was excited about the opportunity to commit to the club in 2019 and beyond.
“I’m obviously super excited to make Norwood my home,” Grigg said.
“I’ve thought about it for a while now, I’m happy to get it done and looking forward to the next few years.”
“I’m committed to helping the club get to where it wants to get too.”
