THE Norwood Football Club would like to provide an injury update ahead of its Round one clash with Port Adelaide next Thursday night.
The Redlegs have completed their three trial games which saw them claim victories against Adelaide and Central District. Norwood was defeated a fortnight ago against the Bloods but will take plenty of confidence out of the three matches.
Duo Sam Morris and Brodie Carroll are on track for a Round one return after overcoming respective foot injuries. Both players did not feature against West Adelaide a fortnight ago, however, the club expects the pair to train fully over the weekend and next to put themselves into the selection frame.
Experienced defender Mitch Wilkins returned to the field against West Adelaide and got through unscathed after a groin injury sidelined him for part of the pre-season. Wilkins has resumed full training and will look to put his hand up for selection at either Reserves or League level.
Defender Michael Talia is tracking well despite not featuring in any of the trial games. The 29-year-old is managing an ankle injury, however, has resumed light running in anticipation of a round three return to the field.
Ruckman Henry Crauford is edging closer to a return to competitive football after missing Norwood’s trial matches with a back complaint. The former Essendon tall will resume full training next week as he looks to return in Round Two.
Tough forward Sam Barnett is targeting a return to football in round two after suffering an achilles injury. He will begin light training and will increase his volume over the next week to prove himself fit for selection.
Experienced midfielder Matthew Panos is continuing his rehabilitation from an ACL injury sustained in August last year.
