Redlegs ruck reaches her milestone

Norwood premiership ruck Leah Cutting is in no doubt the discipline and commitment required to be a junior swimming star has played a major role in her chalking up her 50th Statewide Super Women’s League game on Saturday.

Set to become one of two players to be the first to reach the memorable milestone, Cutting’s hard yards of training, and competing, as a long distance freestyle swimmer have held her in good stead.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 29-year-old said while she will always cherish representing Australia at the Youth Olympics, it is the team environment and life-long friendships developed playing with the Redlegs which mean the most.

A member of Norwood’s first SANFLW match in Round 1 of 2017 and premiership side in the competition’s inaugural year, Cutting has been a pillar of strength leading her team inside the centre square for four-and-a-half seasons.

Recruited from SAWFL female football powerhouse Morphettville Park, Cutting is now excited by the rapid development of the 2021 Redlegs, who sit on top of the ladder after winning six matches in succession.

The police officer based at Henley Beach regularly uses the leadership qualities from her off field role in the community on the football field and is excited to share her 50-game milestone with North Adelaide co-captain Leah Tynan in Round 8.
