Ben Kemp played seven games for the Norwood Under 17s in 1992, and continued in the club’s junior grades the following year.
In 1994, whilst still at Rostrevor College, the creative Kemp represented South Australia at Teal Cup level and made his League debut in the fourth round against West Adelaide at The Parade. Kemp played six matches in his first year of senior football.
In 1995, he played another six League games and 14 for the Reserves in its premiership-winning season. At the end of the year, Kemp was selected by the Collingwood Football Club in the AFL National Draft. After spending a year on the Magpies’ list he returned to The Parade in 1997.
