NORWOOD is delighted to announce the signing of 194cm key forward, Connor McLean.
McLean crosses over from the Central District Football Club where he notched up 30 games booting 25 goals.
The 24-year-old joins Norwood in search of more opportunity and will look to cement himself in Jade Rawlings’ starting 22.
In 2021, he managed nine senior games for the Dogs kicking seven goals including three against North Adelaide at Prospect.
McLean is athletic and durable being able to pinch-hit in the ruck and take contested marks around the ground.
Football Services Manager Rob Harding said McLean’s age profile and size fits Norwood’s list demographic perfectly and is pleased to acquire such a versatile forward which the Redlegs fans will love to watch.
“Connor played a combination of League and Reserves footy against us this year,” said Harding.
“An athletic key forward, we love what he can bring to the table he has fantastic leading patterns and movement, and we are really happy to bring him into our forward mix as we look to add more goal-scoring power next year.”
After putting pen to paper in 2022, McLean said he was delighted about the opportunity of signing with Norwood.
“I’m excited about the opportunity of playing at Norwood in 2022,” said McLean.
“Crossing over from Centrals I’m looking for more opportunity, being at Centrals since I was 12, I felt I needed a fresh start.
“I want to continue playing SANFL footy as long as I can and by joining Norwood, I feel like I can put my best foot forward to further develop and hopefully gain the ultimate success of a Premiership.”
