THE Norwood Football Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Merv Keenihan.
Merv Keenihan attended Norwood Primary and Norwood High Schools. He progressed through the Norwood Football Club junior grades, and in 1953 was named the Junior Colts most effective player.
Keenihan was then adjudged the Reserves best junior in 1955, and the best team man in 1956. He made his senior debut in 1956 and played predominantly as a wingman.
Keenihan featured for Norwood 47 times kicking four goals in the process.
1960 saw him play in a Reserves premiership. Named on a wing, he was among Norwood’s best players in its defeat of Port Adelaide.
The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the Keenihan family.
Vale, Merv.
