Past Player of the Week – Wayne Schmaal

From Karoonda, near Murray Bridge, Wayne Schmaal proved to be a great Norwood clubman. Progressing through Norwood’s under 17s, the solidly built defender was a consistent performer despite several injury setbacks. He played his first Reserves game in 1976, and over the next 12 seasons, went on to make almost 100 appearances at that level.
