The year 2020 brings us a new home at the Parade. In May, we unveil the highly anticipated Wolf Blass Community Centre to all our partners, members and fans. Our new fully functional facility will be open on matchdays, catering for our Pre-Match function’s as well as Post Match presentations. New Recruits

Norwood’s recruiting department has had a busy offseason bringing in several new recruits to assist the side in 2020. Headlined by former Adelaide Crows Best and Fairest winner Richard Douglas and former Lion Ryan Bastinac, the Redlegs will look to go deeper into the finals in 2020. Emmanuel Irra will add some more dash throughout the side and will complement two key marking forwards in Codey Ellison and Tom Pinyon. The club also secured the signature of Nik Rokahr, whose versatility will be crucial in 2020.

Exciting youngsters

After the retirement of four club champions in 2019, it opens the door for several youngsters to earn a spot in the Redlegs side in 2020. With the Reserves winning the 2019 SANFL Premiership, several players will look to earn a permanent spot in Jarrod Cotton’s best 22. Defender Cam Ball showed glimpses of quality last year, as well as Cole Gerloff who had a career-best year winning the Powerade Breakthrough Player for 2019. Reserves Best and Fairest winner Henry Crauford will also look to establish a spot in the League side, after showing plenty in his first season at the Parade.

2020 Hall of Fame

What a moment to be in the room for our Hall of Fame celebrations in 2020.

A room full of players and administrators. The amazing stories of our club. This will be an occasion not to be missed.

Blockbusters at the Parade

What an opportunity to be at the Parade for a number of matches played under lights. The Redlegs will host reigning Premiers Glenelg in a Friday night blockbuster on the first of May, while Round 1 shapes as a massive clash which sees the Legs go up against 2018 Premiers North Adelaide.

We will also keep the tradition hosting the Easter Thursday clash, as we take on the Magpies in round 2.

Four games under lights at Coopers Stadium you don’t want to miss.

New Underage Coaches

Late last year the Norwood Football Club announced its new underage Coaches for the 2020 Season. Chris O’Connor who previously served as the Under 16s Coach will fill the void of the previous Coach James Allan, while Craig Roberts will serve as Norwood’s under 16s Coach in 2020. Both Coaches will aim to get the best out of their players ensuring the club’s development programs are on the right track.

New Women’s Coach

After Steve Symonds departed the club in June 2019, the Norwood Football Club announced Chris Howie as it’s new Women’s Coach for 2020. Howie comes into the role with plenty to give after more than 13 years of coaching experience with his latest stint overseeing Nairne Bremer’s SAWFL Women’s team. With a new game style which will be attacking, there is a lot to look forward to about the Lady Legs this season.

Newly appointed Women’s Coach Chris Howie will look to impress in his first season in charge.

New Sponsors on-board

The Norwood Football Club is extremely delighted to announce its partnership with two of SA’s most prominent businesses Schiavello and People’s Choice Credit Union. Both partners will be seen on the back and front of the Norwood guernsey for season 2020.

Abbott to return

After missing the majority of the 2019 SANFL Statewide Super League Season, Will Abbott will look to return to the frame in season 2020. The tough inside midfielder was a key cog in Norwood’s midfield in 2018 and will look to complement the likes of Mitch Grigg, Matthew Panos, Matthew Nunn, Richard Douglas and Ryan Bastinac. Abbott provides a hard edge as a defensive midfielder.

Will Abbott will be at timely addition to the Norwood team in 2020.

New Captain of the Redlegs

After the retirement of Triple Premiership Player and former Captain Jace Bode, the Redlegs will announce a new leader of the club in 2020. Always an exciting appointment, the new skipper will look to bring his own style to the role, that will ultimately lead the club to success this season.
