147 Years of Norwood

It’s 147 years since AJ Diamond, JR Osborn and HC Burnett held a meeting at Norfolk Arms Hotel in Rundle Street on February 28, 1878 to inaugurate the Norwood Football Club.
Edwin T Smith was Norwood’s first Club Patron.

The inaugural captain was Joseph Osborn, and vice captain Alf McMichael.

Norwood’s first home ground was the oval now used by Christian Brothers College in the east parklands on Bartels Road.

The uniform was navy blue jumpers and knickbockers with red caps and stockings.
