THE NORWOOD Football Club celebrated the 2020 SANFLW season at the Wolf Blass Community Centre on Friday night, as skilful midfielders Matilda Zander and Sophie Armitstead drew equal first in the Best and Fairest count.
Zander had a breakout season at the Norwood Football Club in 2020, spending more time in the engine room as a predominant midfielder.
The 21-year old not only found herself at home in the midfield but was still able to pinch-hit up forward and impact the scoreboard in key moments of games.
Armitstead was again consistent in her role as an inside midfielder in 2020.
Norwood’s Vice-Captain played all 11 games in 2020 and was a leader for disposals and clearances.
Both Armistead and Zander led the count at various stages on the night but ultimately tied for first spot by the end of Round 10.
Gun defender, Rhiannon Busch capped off her last year at the Parade finishing in second spot with 25 votes, while Crows midfielder Najwa Allen finished third with 21 votes.
The ever-reliable Jessica Macolino finished fourth, while NT recruit Mattea Breed starred in her first year at the Parade finishing fifth overall.
