THE NORWOOD Football Club celebrated the 2021 SANFLW season at the Wolf Blass Community Centre on Friday night, as consistent midfielder Sophie Armitstead won her second Best and Fairest award.
Armitstead was again consistent in her role as an inside midfielder in 2021.
Norwood’s Vice-Captain played all 13 games in 2021 and led the club for both disposals (13.5 per game) and clearances (3.6 per game).
Gun defender Morgan Johnston led the count early after the first three rounds before Armitstead put her foot on the accelerator leading by 22 votes after Round six.
Armitstead was then not to be denied leading the count from then on finishing with a total of 116 votes.
Small forward/midfielder, Emma Clark capped off an impressive year finishing second with 58 votes, while veteran ruck Leah Cutting finished third with 50 votes equal with Morgan Johnston.
The ever-reliable Ashlee Gould finished fourth, while Deputy Vice-Captain Elisha Gallagher had another impressive year finishing fifth overall.
