2 April 2026

By ALEXANDRA BULL

The AAMI SA U16 Girls team has announced its leadership group ahead of its first Marsh AFLW National Development Championships match against Western Australia on Tuesday.

Set to take on the Sandropers at Thomas Farms Oval on Tuesday, the Croweaters will be led by Central District young gun Izabella Nisbet, with Norwood’s Mia Wood, Central’s Amalia Musolino and South’s Jaidee-Lee Shortridge rounding out the leadership group.

All eight SANFLW teams are represented in the side, with most players having tasted action in the inaugural AAMI Talent League Girls season, along with SANFLW Trial Matches.

The side will once again be coached by triple championship mentor Bek McMahon, who will be supported by former Sturt SANFLW coach Michael O’Connor, and Port Adelaide AFLW player Sachi Syme, along with Emma Sampson, Emily Woods and Ashlee Bridge.

South Australia’s second game will be played on Thursday, April 16, with an opponent to be determined by the result against WA.
